JERSEY'S SU-MO WITCH MORGAN GET'S THE BOOT

Dear Readers,
It seems my son Simon Abbott who died prematurely aged 47 in the Channel Island of Jersey last year after being relentlessly cyber-bullied was not the only person to get the treatment from the island’s witch Maureen Morgan (See my posts JERSEY’S HEARTLESS PARAMEDIC Parts 1& 2 & TALKING ILL OF THE DEAD - THE JERSEY WAY).
The wheel has now turned and not even her mumbo jumbo could save her. They say it’s not over until the Fat lady sings. Well the election is over and I can’t see her doing much singing. The electorate has completely rejected her efforts to get into the island’s Parliament.
Her alleged Tarot card reading expertise was sadly lacking because if it had been any good she would not have even entered the race.
In a bye election she ran a vicious, social media smear campaign that was very similar to the way she attacked my son.
Here’s the story headed Ding, Dong the witch is Dead lifted from The Bald Truth, the blog of Trevor Pitman, a former member of the States Assembly, as the Parliament there is called.
I have shortened it slightly and included pictures and  Tweets which were not in his original. Also included in brackets are explanations to make things clear for those of you who are not familiar with the politics on the Island.

Vicious cyber bully Maureen Morgan humiliated as St. Helier No 1 District voters refuse to buy into the con…

What the **** ever could have convinced a bitter and twisted, malicious, mean-spirited, potty mouthed pretend witch and claimed ‘professional’ Tarot card reader - one Maureen Morgan (‘Su-Mo’ to her victims on the internet) to kid herself she had even a cat in hell’s chance of conning enough of the fine people of St. Helier (that’s the capital of Jersey) No. 1 District to vote her into the States Assembly?
SU-MO MORGAN SPOILING FOR A FIGHT.
YOU CAN'T BLAME HER FOR NOT TAKING ON
SOMEBODY HER OWN SIZE

Yes it is certainly true that things in The Island Democracy Forgot are bad: really bad! Hell, with having lost Daniel Wimberley, Stuart Syvret, Bob Hill and now also both Shona (Pitman) and myself – that’s a full five of only eight politicians in recent times who were brave enough to stand up to the Establishment cover-up merchants and their corrupt judicial counterparts – things in truth have never ever been democratically bleaker (The five are all former members of the Parliament there and Shona is Trevor’s wife).

But desperate enough to make any sane and basically decent person risk a vote for Maureen Morgan …

A woman whose entire contribution to the Jersey community appears to revolve around the spreading of vicious and cowardly lies on the internet about anyone who dares disagree with her; let alone commit the cardinal sin of challenging or criticising her? As the truly pathetic and embarrassing total of just 51 voters psycho Su-Mo managed to garner in the by-election of March 5th 2014 spells out (no pretend witch pun intended!); and a fact all with even a rudimentary knowledge of politics, democracy, socio-economic and even plain and simple old common decency could have told her: the answer is a spectacular and resounding NO!

In fact the message for Maureen Morgan sent out by the electorate tonight could not be any less ambiguous: Go back to the broom cupboard. Stop taking your clear self-loathing, low self-esteem and twisted bitterness at your personal failures out on other people with this obsessive and cowardly internet bullying. Hell, act like an adult for once, take responsibility. Take a good hard look at yourself - and get some HELP!

The evidence of Maureen Morgan’s cyber abuse is shocking…

Indeed as just one of the many people Su-Mo has viciously and obsessively attacked (in all honesty her whole life seems to revolve around me as documented by numerous screenshots sent to me by people concerned I might have a deranged stalker) my ‘crime’ warranting this warped behaviour appears to have arisen simply from my daring to challenge her appalling cyber attacks on the name and character of the late Simon Abbott: a vulnerable individual barely cold in the ground (Maureen was one of eight people my son sued for libelling him on social media. He died before the cases could be finalised).

MORGAN'S IDEA OF FUN ATTACKING MY SON WITH THE HELP OF PARAMEDIC
DAVID MOODY.  FOUR DAYS AFTER SIMON DIED MOODY COMMENTED ON SU-MO'S
FACEBOOK PAGE: "NO LONGER A PROBLEM TO ANYONE. RIP."

Vicious cyber rants the style of which Morgan has continued to hurl at the late
Mr Abbott’s distraught and grieving father Jon!
Okay, so my other personal ‘crime’ in Su-Mo’s twisted mind also appears to be that I hold Leftist political principles and perhaps even worse in her warped imagination and seething jealousy – I have over a number of years put in the kind of hard graft on behalf of the people who twice elected me (and just as many who couldn’t or even probably wouldn’t) which a lazy motor-mouth bully like Morgan could only dream of.

Morgan ‘talks the walk’ but can’t ‘walk the talk’…

Indeed, should anyone have any doubts on this last fact then just consider this little gem; Maureen Morgan bragged at the political hustings, on radio and on the net that she was the person who as Deputy (this is what they call a member of Parliament in Jersey) would ‘just roll up her sleeves’ and ‘do the work’ that needed doing. How strange then that this very same person was simply too bone idle (or too staggeringly arrogant?) to even knock on all the electorate’s front doors in the course of her election ‘campaign’? A ‘bad back’, Su-Mo - how very convenient.

In one of those bizarre twists of fate as chance would have it I came to be tipped off by the drunken blabberings of one of the tiny coterie of loons Morgan appears to feed on via a particular internet ‘political forum’ that Su-Mo was convinced she could get a great deal of publicity by deliberately goading me into exchanges throughout the weeks of the election campaign. ‘Jonnie’ or was it ‘Sue’ or ‘Julie’ being a bampot of equally staggering size let slip that not only would I apparently be ‘fuming’ at Morgan’s standing I also ‘just wouldn’t be able to resist firing back’ at Su-Mo’s on line abuse.

The fact was however her running for election actually had me in fits of laughter and further resolved me – thanks to the troll’s loose tongue - that I wouldn’t make a single comment or criticism until after the polling station had closed on March 5th. And despite the desperate and rabid abuse I have stuck to this.

But now of course the gloves can come off …

The fact is deprived of the publicity I would have guaranteed her Maureen Morgan’s election ‘campaign’ has consequently been all but non-existent: simply revolving around pumping out ever more vicious and childish abuse at those who she clearly knew were putting in the work and thus were more likely to have a chance of getting elected. People who also just happened coincidentally to be (you guessed it!) other community-driven leftists like Sam Mezec and Nick Le Cornu (they were both elected).

ON HER HIGH STICK AGAIN
Candidates endorsed by...me!

Even the well-intended Gino Risoli (another local politician) was abused and ridiculed mercilessly by Su-Mo’s tiny gang of supporters for simply having contrary perspectives. Whilst incredibly the bullying Su-Mo would even mock her victims’ appearance. People were 'Bald Tits.' People were 'wankers'. (Rico Sorda – an investigative blogger - in this case I believe). All pretty rich indeed coming from a woman who if one was to adopt her own standards would surely face the barb that she herself appears to have fallen from the very top of the ugly tree and bounced on every single branch on the way down?

Su-Mo would also happily mock her chosen victim’s demeanour – hey, I am apparently ‘camp’ amongst other things (no problem with that Su-Mo: if it was good enough for a pair of geniuses like Lou Reed and David Bowie then its quite good enough for me!) No insult it appeared was too low for this truly horrible, embittered individual. Indeed, at a special Church hustings Morgan even appalled people present with her ignorant, mocking views on inequality and ‘one armed black lesbians’!

Yet if all of this wasn’t enough then Maureen Morgan would also simply just make up lies…

For example I apparently had called her a ‘bitch’ a number of times on the internet. Yet oddly, when I took the trouble to write to her politely requesting she point out exactly ‘where and when’ Morgan obviously could not. As she knew full well it simply hadn’t happened. Indeed, faced with her lies being confronted head on Morgan never even bothered to reply.

MORGAN'S SELFY TAKEN FROM HER FACEBOOK PAGE.

Yet perhaps most troubling in looking back on all of Maureen Morgan’s horrible cyber bullying and abuse of people is what she actually told people on the internet – and within her ‘manifesto’ that she wanted to do had enough people in St. Helier No. 1 have been sufficiently gullible to vote her into the States.

Incredibly Maureen Morgan stated that she wanted to work within mental health …

Mental health! I ask readers: given all of the behaviour I have highlighted; all of the horrible abuse and attempts at cyber bullying could there really be a better example of what a lucky escape not just the people of No. 1 District but the Island generally have just had? Is this woman really that deluded? Quite possibly so given that in one of her rants at me Su-Mo had actually claimed that she was both a ‘counsellor’ and a ‘healer’! Indeed, just what poor Mr Jon Abbott will make reading such claims I really can’t imagine.

IF SHE IS 'LOVE' YOU WON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT
'HATE' IS LIKE

Yet for all of Maureen Morgan’s horrible abuse and the cowardly lies she has spread about me and my wife the fact is that ultimately I just feel sorry for this sad and pathetic individual. After all – when even the Establishment won’t take a risk on a rabid anti-Leftie candidate you really should know you are seen as one of life’s losers! Indeed, it is fair to say it would be quite difficult to sink any lower.

Thanks Trevor for summing up the witch’s appalling behaviour far better than I could have done. And let’s hope this is the end of her callous, social media assaults on innocent people.
Regards,
Jon

JERSEY'S HEARTLESS PARAMEDIC

Dear Readers,
DAVID MOODY
Paramedics are the people who are usually the first on the scene of an accident. We rely on them to give us the best emergency treatment that can often mean the difference between life and death.
So you need some quite exceptional qualities to become one.
I’ll be mentioning them as I recount the story of one of them that will make you wonder how some people can perhaps start off on the right track and then go terribly wrong. (Note: This report is in two parts and concludes in my post Jersey’s Heartless Paramedic Part 2.)

*A paramedic must have a caring and empathic nature.

David Moody had been a paramedic in the Channel Island of Jersey since 1989 when my son Simon Abbott died there. At that stage David had the very responsible job of being an Operational Paramedic in charge of several others as well as support staff.

Towards the end of 2012 Simon sued eight people on the Island for libelling him on social media (See my posts DID CYBER BULLIES KILL SIMON ABBOTT; CYBER WOLVES HUNTING SIMON ABBOTT etc).

The bullying went on for some two years. And although the inquest Coroner Assistant, Viscount Advocate Mark Harris chose not to comment on this aspect, a lot of evidence indicated that Simon’s heart attack could well have been brought on by the relentless character assassination that he endured right up until the day he died aged just 47.

He was accused of being a con man and other dubious activities when there was absolutely no evidence to support the allegations. All he was trying to do was to raise money for a charity he started to help women with post natal depression.

AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT MY SON HAD TO CONTEND WITH
He did this in memory of his sister Samantha, his only sibling, who died tragically in 2009 a few months after the birth of her first and only child. She too had been suffering from this affliction.

Even Ian le Sueur one of the main bullies showed how inane their campaign was when he admitted in an email that there is nothing to suggest to us, that other than circumstantial evidence he has, or is out to cause harm to anyone he befriends.

MORGAN'S self portrait
One of the people Simon sued was Maureen Morgan a tarot card reader and self styled witch who certainly lived up to this label. Among the others was Murray Norton a Radio Jersey presenter and his photographer friend Le Sueur.

*A paramedic should strive to behave at all times in a manner that brings admiration, acknowledgement and respect to the profession.

Undeterred by my son’s court action Morgan continued to attack him on social media in an effort to justify her slanderous behaviour. Even after he died she was still at it.

And Moody, who was evidently a friend of the witch, could not resist coming under her spell.

*A paramedic must maintain a high standard of personal conduct.

NOT PUTTING HIS WIFE IN A VERY GOOD LIGHT

On her Facebook page Morgan was busy telling the world about Simon Abbott and his Attempts to Sue me for Libel when Moody climbed on her broomstick with this revolting contribution on 26 May 2013.

I am not strictly allowed to say that Abbot (sic) is a con man but I am allowed to say that based on anecdotal evidence … and on the balance of probability…it does appear that Abbot (sic) May indeed be, inter alia a Tosser.

The Witch added Nicely put to her toxic Facebook brew.
WHO KNOWS HOW MANY MORE SKELETONS
DAVID MOODY HAS IN HIS CUPBOARD

Tosser is vulgar slang for someone who masturbates or to be charitable to this compassionated paramedic and give him the benefit of the doubt it could also mean a stupid or unpleasant person.

*A paramedic must behave with honesty and make sure that their behaviour does not damage the public’s confidence in them or their profession.

My son died on 17 June 2013 after collapsing at a café in St Helier, the Island’s capital.
The WITCH at her hypercritical best

That was the trigger for another even sicker comment from Moody on Morgan’s Facebook four days later.

No longer a problem!! he told everyone. And having stuck his knife in up to the hilt he gave it this sadistic twist: RIP (Rest in peace).

I don’t know what the Witch had to say about this but I’m sure she would have loved it.

Ironically Morgan is a member of the Tarot Association of the British Isles which aims to promote Tarot as a force for good and development in a person’s life. And its Code of Ethics expects Readers to be open-minded, honest and non-judgemental.

The Witch is currently trying to cast her spell on the electorate in Jersey in the hope of becoming a member of the Island’s parliament. Informed opinion is that she hasn’t a hope in hell.

*A paramedic must ensure that his patient’s dignity and confidentiality are maintained.

On 13 October 2013 Britain’s The Mail on Sunday, which has a readership of 2-million, carried a story headed ‘BBC man’s Twitter bullying campaign helped kill my son.’ Devastated father claims offensive comments contributed to son’s heart attack at 47.

The following day Moody was at it again, four months after my son had died. This time on Murray Norton’s Facebook page.

I had dealings with the “complainant” with you all the way! was his contribution, which I believe could only have meant that he had treated Simon at some stage.

Ian le Sueur likes this the photographer added callously.

Flash IAN
The inquest was held on 9 December 2013 and the report of what happened gave me another stomach churning mystery to unravel.

Had Moody’s deplorable Tosser remark on Morgan’s Facebook page been the reason for Simon’s strange behaviour at the Welcome Centre Café at St Thomas’ Church after he complained of difficulty breathing?
According to the Police an ambulance crew arrived at 12.15 after a 999 called had been made. Simon got into it and an ECG revealed that he had an insufficient blood supply to his heart.

Abbott then began to act aggressively towards the paramedics, the report went on. He was flailing his arms, accusing them of harassing him and attempting to leave the ambulance. They tried to calm him down without success.
He got out of the ambulance and went to lie down between two parked cars. The ambulance crew called the Police for assistance. Abbott would not communicate with the police officer who tried to help him, but would talk to two women who were there.
He began flailing his arms and said again the paramedics had been harassing him and to tell them to go away.
My son then had a seizure. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the General Hospital at 13.47.

WAS MOODY ONE OF THE PARAMEDICS WHO ATTENDED TO MY SON AT THE CAFÉ?

The story continues in my post JERSEY’S HEARTLESS PARAMEDIC Part 2.

         Regards,
         Jon

NATIONAL UNION OF JOURNALISTS' PROTECTION RACKET

Dear Readers,
MICHELLE STANISTREET
The British media, that upholder of justice, freedom of speech and all that jazz, has one rule for everybody else and a very different, shocking one for itself.
This takes the Pulitzer prize or whatever the British equivalent is if there is one, for deplorable double standards worthy of the best expose`.
With a clear conscience it is happily maintaining that old maxim that a cornered journalist is no different from anybody else when it comes to covering up - he is 10 times worse.
Fortunately I was able to get the inside story by hiring a retired reporter who had honed his hacking skills on the News of the World that was brought down by the kind of morality that is being fostered by Britain’s National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Of course I can’t reveal the information he got for me – that would be telling.

But I can disclose how the NUJ, which claims to be the largest union of its kind in the world with 38 000 members in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Channel Islands, protects its own rotten eggs. And as they are the main purveyors of the news they have been able to keep this scandal well and truly under wraps.

Not even a whiff has leaked out until now. The stink, however, is pretty overwhelming.

The NUJ’s website is full of moral wisdom as well as a code of conduct that stipulates how members should behave when dealing with the public.
Her are some examples:

Members should strive to ensure information disseminated is honestly conveyed, accurate and fair.

They should differentiate between fact and fiction.

And anybody looking at its website must agree not to impersonate another person or use a false name to try to mislead others as to the origin of any communication

Publish or post defamatory information.

Threaten, harass or abuse others.

So it’s reasonable to assume that it requires all its members to abide by all these high ideals.

In reality this is just window dressing.

This is what happened when I complained that Ian le Sueur a freelance photographer and Murray Norton a BBC radio presenter in the Channel Island of Jersey had relentlessly cyber-bullied my son Simon on social media. He died prematurely of a heart attack aged 47 (See my posts DID CYBER-BULLIES KILL SIMON ABBOTT? CYBER WOLVES HUNTING SIMON ABBOTT etc).

They made him out to be a con man who was pocketing money collected for a charity he started when there was no evidence to support these allegations. Simon was trying to raise money for women with post natal depression after his sister committed suicide while suffering from this problem.

Le Sueur even admitted in an email that he hid behind a false name to do his dirty work.

NORTON

An internet item showed that Le Sueur was a freelance member of the NUJ, but I could find nothing that indicated Norton was a member although it does accept broadcasters and he claimed to write for newspapers and magazines.

However the Union is a secret society. I was told they could not confirm or deny that either of these two were members. And the punch line was the union does not take complaints from the public.

This comedy became even more laughable when I persisted. It was only then that I was told to submit my complaint against Le Sueur while they still refused to say whether or not he was a member.  Under protest this is what I did.

Weeks later when I asked what progress had been made I was told that as they only considered complaints from members mine had been passed down to the level of Le Sueur’s chapel to see if a member would sponsor it, but surprise, surprise nobody was prepared to do this. In my limited experience the people in the chapel would be the ones most likely to be his friends, making this even more of a charade.

On my own initiative I contacted Professor Chris Frost head of the Journalism Department at Liverpool’s John Moores University. He chairs the NUJ’s Ethics Council and is a National Executive Council member.
PROFESSOR FROST
I told him that having been an NUJ member many years ago I was appalled to learn that the NUJ will only take complaints about an NUJ member from another member.

That’s like saying nobody can complain about police brutality, corruption etc unless it comes from another policeman, I went on. It’s a protection racket that hardly goes with the media’s image of upholding justice, free speech etc. It makes nonsense of your code of conduct.

He then made this astounding admission: I’m afraid we don’t have the resources, financial or human, to deal with complaints from the public. During the eighties we did take complaints, but the number soon headed into the hundreds and became impossible to manage.
Its remedy was a laughable pretence at policing that would no doubt be the perfect answer to virtually eliminate complaints from the public in any organisation.
We put in place the filter of complaints only coming from members, the Professor explained. We do pass them to branches or deal with them ourselves as the Ethics Council on occasion as this gives us the opportunity to take cases of significance.

How many NUJ members have been prepared to join the popularity queue by lodging a complaint again a fellow member I wonder?

What’s more the decision to effectively ignore the rogue members in its ranks doesn’t comply with the NUJ’s own rules.

Rule 17 states: Ethics Council: There shall be an Ethics Council charged with the responsibility for the promotion and enforcement of the professional ethical standards of the union, with particular reference to the enforcement of the union’s code of conduct and with research and debating ethical issues on media freedom and regulation.

This Ethics Council has the following duties.

1.   To promote the unions code of conduct among the general public and to publicise its own work on ethical matters (How can it possibly be doing this if it doesn’t take complaints from the public and doesn’t mention this on its website or as far as I could see in its rules)

2.   To promote high ethical standards among the membership (Ha! Ha! Ha!).

3.   To hear complaints against members under the code of conduct (Only the very few if any that get through its own censorship system).

After a recent court case in Scotland the Union got good publicity by proclaiming that it has pledged to continue its campaign against online bullying of journalists.

Its double standards were showing once again when it gave me a hard time trying to lodge my complaint against one or more of its members for doing something similar.

In that case David Limond a football supporting yobo called Glasgow reporter Angela Haggerty Taig (a derogatory term for a Catholic or Irish nationalist) of the day because of her Irish heritage and scum of the day on social media. He also encouraged other people to abuse her on Twitter. This was evidently because of her coverage of the financial collapse of the Rangers club.
This bullying had many similarities to the way Le Sueur and Norton attacked my son. But Scotland dealt with it a lot more efficiently than the authorities in Jersey. Limond got sent to jail for six months while the Jersey Police decided, after taking legal advice, that no offences had been committed.
DAVID every girl's dream
In any event Jersey’s Data Protection law appears to be reserved for convicting and imprisoning people the Island’s hierarchy doesn’t like, not to stop the average person from being slandered on the internet.
Here are quotes from the NUJ’s website and two of its most prominent members that make what it is doing on its ethics side look even more ridiculous. My comments are in brackets.

We need firmer regulation from a body that is there to protect press freedom, press standards and ethics by listening to the public …. Professor Frost talking about proposals to change the way the Press is regulated in Britain.

The Union does not back statutory regulation of the press. We support an independent system of regulation – independent from the industry and, crucially, from government (No wonder when the Union can’t even regulate itself properly). For long years the Union has campaigned for a more accountable press and for high standards of journalism (Yet it sets a virtually non-existent standard when it comes to disciplining its own members) .... Michelle Stanistreet the Union’s General Secretary.

Journalism at its best uncovers the truth, secret courts hide evidence. The open Justice Project has teamed up with the Union to offer training on the Justice and Security Act, a law that conceals information from the public, denies independent media scrutiny and insulates the government from scandal ( Doesn’t refusing to take complaints from the public insulate the Union from scandal?) …. Union’s website.

Not all is lost as far as my complaint is concerned. The NUJ just might redeem itself, but it looks as though it is a very big MIGHT.

In the last email I received from it I was told the Council will have another look at it at our next meeting, but I’m afraid you should not assume from that that the Council will agree to pursue the complaint further.
Now I know what it’s like being the mouse in a game of cat and mouse.
That meeting is on 20 January so we will see what happens.

         Regards,
Jon, the disgusted Poor Man’s Press Ombudsman.

JERSEY EVENING POST -THE ONE EYED PAPER

TOP SECRET

Not for Publication. Any breach of this will be dealt with severely under Jersey’s DATA PROTECTION LAW.

Dear Andy Sibcy, Editor Designate of the Jersey Evening Post,

CHRIS BRIGHT & ANDY SIBCY
On 31 October I sent an email to your Editor Chris Bright asking various questions about my son Simon Abbott who died in Jersey last June aged 47. (See my posts DID CYBER-BULLIES KILL SIMON ABBOTT? DEFENDING MURRAY NORTON by Tony Bellows; BBC'S DILEMMA - DEFINING CYBER-BULLYING etc)

My questions were of such an inflammable nature and so dangerous to the safety of the States of Jersey that Bright felt he could not answer me by email as that was far too risky.  So, through his PA Corinne Wiseman, he asked for my address so that he could post me a letter.

It didn’t seem to occur to him that if that was intercepted my cover as an MI 5 operative would have been completely blown and everyone would know where I lived.

Anyway I took the risk and then you replied on his behalf in a letter dated 8 November. But I can tell you I have doubled the number of day and night armed guards around my home.

As you know this is what I said with your answers in orange and my additional comments in brackets.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I gather you are the Editor of the JEP and as such could you help me. As you no doubt know my son Simon Abbott was extensively cyber-bullied by Murray Norton, Ian le Sueur and others over a period of about two years. The result was that he instituted a libel action against these two and six other people in Jersey’s Royal Court. Even the greenest cub reporter would recognise that this is a crackerjack story, especially on a small island like Jersey. So can you tell me why your paper never so much as mentioned a word of this?
You state as a matter of fact that your son was ‘extensively cyber-bullied’ by Murray Norton. I cannot agree with your cut-and-dried assessment. It is true that serious allegations have been made about the behaviour of Mr Norton, but these remain unsubstantiated. I am informed by the States of Jersey Police that there is currently no police investigation into those allegations.
MAIL ON SUNDAY ARTICLE
We were not aware of accusations of cyber-bullying until the article in the Mail on Sunday. (That just shows how blind your paper is to very newsworthy events that happen under your nose in Jersey. The cyber-bullying of my son had been going on for about two years before the Mail article appeared on 13 October 2013. And any decent paper would have fired all its reporters if none of them had heard about this, especially on a small island of only 100 000 people. This is so improbably that one can only assume that you had a more dubious reason for keeping this out of your paper)

You go on to say: Had your son’s libel action against Mr Norton and others got to court, the Jersey Evening Post would have reported those proceedings. (That’s either a lie or a case of your news team once again being so incompetent that it is unaware of what’s happening on your island)

At the time when Simon began his civil action the Royal Court did not release papers relating to such proceedings to the media. In any event they would not have become privileged documents until the other parties had filed a response with the court. (I suppose it would come as great surprise to you to hear that this was done towards the end of last year making the entire case available for any paper to report on. Living in South Africa half a world away from Jersey I was able to get copies of all the documents after my son died, yet your paper was unaware that they were even available for publication. On any decent paper, that doesn’t have a very dubious hidden agenda; the editor could be fired for that)

Even in the last few days when your paper carried reports about moves to outlaw cyber-bullying your paper reported that my son’s inquest was still to be held but you did not mention his name or anything about the background to his case. Why was that? But you did carry a story about some American girl who committed suicide because of cyber-bullying, hardly something that was relevant to Jersey. Standing Orders of the Island’s Parliament forbid the naming of people in the Chamber in situations like this. In this case we felt it was responsible to follow that protocol. (Come off it. That was just another excuse for you not to mention my son’s name or the circumstances surrounding what had happened to him. From what you say the Standing Orders do not control what newspapers say)

On 30 October Norton announce on his Jersey Radio show that this was his “last day for the foreseeable future.” Has you paper carried a report on this?

Norton’s contractual arrangements with the BBC are of no great news interest to us. (In this one sentence you have revealed exactly why you never reported on people who were cyber-bullying Simon – it was to protect Norton and his friends)

I now understand completely why some people in Jersey call your paper the JERSEY EVENING PROPAGANDA or is it the JERSEY EVENING PRAVDA?

Regards Jon, a disgusted former journalist, father and Poor Man's Press Ombudsman.
